To export your Bybit history for taxes, sign in on the website (the app does not have this feature), hover over your profile and go to Account > Data Export. Export the Transaction Log as CSV, one file per 12 months, and the Order History if your tax tool asks for it. Bybit says exports take about 1 to 3 days, and the download link is valid for 7 days.
Before you start
- Website only. Bybit's help article says the account data export function is not available in the Bybit app.
- Verified accounts. The export is available for accounts with Identity Verification or Business Verification.
- Where Bybit operates. Bybit does not serve every country, and residents of the US are among those it excludes. This guide is for users in countries where Bybit operates; the tax rules that apply are those of your country of residence.
The three Bybit data types
| Data type | What it contains | Format | Use for taxes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transaction Log | Every asset flow: transaction type, balance change per token, product category | CSV | The main file: trades, fees, funding, rewards, transfers |
| Order History | Every order across spot, derivatives, Earn and tools: prices, quantities, fees, P&L | CSV | Detail for trades and derivatives P&L |
| Account Statement | A snapshot of balances and value, plus realized P&L | Proof of holdings on a date; not for import |
Tax tools usually import the Transaction Log. Check the import guide of the tool you use: some ask for both CSVs.
Step by step: export from the Data Export page
These steps follow Bybit's help article "How to Self-Export My Account Data" (updated September 30, 2026).
- On the Bybit homepage, hover over your Profile, then go to Account > Data Export. You can also get there from Assets > Funding Account > History > Data Export.
- Choose the data type: Transaction Log first.
- Choose the accounts. For taxes, include Funding, Unified Trading and Copy Trading accounts. From the main account you can batch-export up to 100 subaccounts at once.
- Select the records to include.
- Set the timeframe. Use Customize and pick up to 12 months, for example January 1 to December 31, 2026.
- Click Export Now.
- When the status changes to Exported, Bybit also sends an email. Click Download.
- Repeat for each earlier year, and for Order History if needed.
Limits to know
| Item | What Bybit's help page says |
|---|---|
| Range per file | 12 months maximum; export one file per year |
| How far back | Up to 3 years of recent data on the Data Export page; some record types since January 1, 2022 |
| Monthly quota | 50 exports per month across all data types |
| Processing time | About 1–3 days for Transaction Log and Order History; about 1 working day for statements |
| Download link | Valid for 7 days |
| Fresh data | Today's data is available to export from the next day |
| Rows per file | No limit on the Data Export page |
| Time zone | Statement dates follow UTC+0 |
The faster exports under Assets > Unified Trading Account > History Records and Orders > Unified Trading Order are more limited: six months per export within the last two years, and 10,000 entries per file. Use the Data Export page for taxes.
Connect with the Tax API instead
Bybit offers a Tax API: a read-only key you connect to a supported tax tool so it pulls your history automatically. Bybit requires Google Authenticator to create an API key, and says the Tax API is not available for institutional users. As with any API connection, never give a tax tool trading or withdrawal permissions, and do not also upload a CSV for the same period.
Check the file before you upload
- One file per year, no gaps. Line the date ranges up so each year starts the day after the previous file ended.
- Every account. Funding, Unified Trading and Copy Trading flows are all in the Transaction Log only if you selected them.
- UTC dates. Bybit uses UTC+0. If your tax year runs on local time, set the import time zone in your software.
- Derivatives. Futures and perpetuals P&L, and funding fees, are in the Transaction Log and Order History. How they are taxed depends on your country.
- Closing balances. After importing, your software's balance for each coin should match Bybit.
Before you close your Bybit account
Export first. Bybit's help center warns that your transaction logs and order history will no longer be visible or downloadable after an account is deleted. Without them, you cannot prove the cost basis of anything you traded there.
Turn the export into a tax report
Bybit gives you the data but no country-specific tax report. With derivatives, copy trading or several years of files, software that reads Bybit's Transaction Log format does the matching for you. If you trade on another exchange too, such as Binance or OKX, import those in the same place so transfers between them match up.

How long does a Bybit export take?
Bybit says the Transaction Log and Order History take about 1 to 3 days, depending on file size and period. Account statements take about one working day.
